Murni's Warung - Ubud, Bali

Muni opened Ubud's first real restaurant in 1974. This restaurant features its own galery and craft showroom. The menu is varied from Indonesian to Westren. This restaurant is pretty big. There are stairs going down three levels. They have a greenery view on the river's hillside and not just that but you can hear the sound of running water from the river on the lowest level from the restaurant. The food at Murni's Warung is not so great, so don't expect to much that their food can satisfy your culinary appetite.

Bebek Bengil (Dirty Duck Diner) - Ubud, Bali



Bebek Bengil (Dirty Duck Diner) was first opened in 1990. and they have a little story behind the name of the restaurant. Here the story begin:

When we were bulding the restaurant, we thought long and hard about a name. Many good suggestions came from our friends, but none seemed just right. We knew we wanted a Balinese name that translated well into English. However, for a long time the metaphor eluded us. One tropical monsoon morning, when the restaurant was very close to being finished (we had the concrete floor down, and the tables in). A flock of ducks from the rice fields all around us then) ran quickly and across the floor and tables. They left muddy webbed footprints all over the place. They were our first guests - those dirty ducks!

Bebek Bengil (Signature Dish) - IDR 82.000,-

This dish served with steamed rice (you can change with sauteed potato), balinese vegetable, sambal and chili mixed with shallot and some spices. The skin duck is really crispy but I think the meat is quite dry. 

Ayam Suwir - about IDR 55.000,-

Next dish is Ayam Suwir (Shredded Chicken) served with yellow steamed rice. The portion for the rice quite small and the Shredded Chicken taste like "Brengkes", not really special dish I thought. 

BBQ Pork Ribs - IDR ,-

Now the last dish is BBQ Pork Ribs, the taste not so spectacular. For this dish I prever to eat BBQ Spare Ribs at Naughty Nuri's Warung (Ubud, Bali).  

Here a few Tips when you wanna try to eat here:
  1. Do remember to make a reservation when you want to dine here during the peak season.
  2. Do come early for dinner, preferably before 18.00 pm (before sunset) to se the magnificient views of the paddy fields.

Meat & Gourmet Shop - DPS, Surabaya

When you come into the shop, your eyes will be pampered with various choices cooking spice, freozen raw meat, assorted condiments and sauces that you can buy there before you go into the restaurant. 

Mozzarella Stick - IDR 40.000,-
Mozzarella Stick it was really good finger food. The outside textured really crunchy and gooey melted in the inside. They mixed the bread flour with the herbs to pump up the flavour.

Penne Pormodoro with Basil Sauce
Penne Pormodoro with Basil Sauce great pasta dish to try. It was really good sauce.

Aust. Beef Wagyu Tenderloin MS 4/6 200 gr - IDR 245.000,-

Aust. Beef Wagyu Tenderloin We prefer to ordered the level of the meat medium-well. I love the green oily sauce (Basil sauce I thought), thats really flavourful. The meat was juicy, the bread was crispy. If you wanna try the higher grade for the meat you can ask to the server. Highly Recommended Place to try !!!
